1. Translation aids - Podcasts There are a lot of tools out there that help me keep my language skills up-to-date and lately one of the tools that I've been using is podcasts. I have been subscribing to all sorts of Spanish language podcasts through Itunes and the two podcasts I've ended up keeping in my Ipod are Mundo Hoy and BBC Enlace. There are a lot of other podcasts that you can find, but these two seem to be the ones that have helped me broaden my language skills the most. Do you use podcasts to help with your language? If so, let me know if you've found any good ones. ====Translator's Ebook==== Don't forget to get your copy of The Freelance Translator's Ultimate List of Translation Agencies today! To celebrate how well sales have gone so far, I've lowered the price to an unbelievable amount of $7 so that more people can get the book. It's a great way to increase your number of clients for a very cheap price. ========================== 2. Site Updates There have been a great update to the site that I'd like to make you aware of (especially if you haven't been to the site in a while!). It's called C2 (Content 2.0) and it allows you to add content to the site for free. I've added the functionality on a few pages already and people have begun to take advantage and started adding some interesting articles and pictures on translation. The pages below are places where you can add your own insights and opinions on the translation industry. Check out what other people have added and then feel free to give us your 2 cents!
Directory of translation and language articles 3. Looking for some help with the site I've been busy lately with some things and haven't had time to add more articles to the site like I've wanted. I am interested in finding someone (or a couple of people) that would be willing to write original articles for the site based on some keywords that I will be providing. The articles will be in Spanish or English. I'm still working out the details but if you have any interest in writing for the site in either Spanish or English (you don't need to do both), let me know and I'll get back to you as soon as I figure things out. I'll be paying $5 USD for every article (between 500-700 words) I ask you to write. 3. Quote - Ariel Ramchandani "The effect of a successful translation is like walking through the streets of a foreign city and finding that you can understand what is being said around you, though you also know the language is not your own."
