1. Ride out the recession (and come out on top)!

Even with every sector of the economy looking for a bailout (handout) the recession is still not showing any signs of recovering.

Of course, most of us knew that no amount of bailout money would miraculously turn everything around. Anytime the government feels like it has to step in and give handouts to people is more like a slap in the face than genuine help since it makes it seem like nobody should have to take responsibility for their own future.

Well, I hate having to rely on anyone else for my livelihood and recession or not, there are things that you can do to not only help your translation business get through these tough economic times but also come out on top and be even better off than you were last year. Impossible? Not at all. It takes work and some creativity, but ultimately we are responsible for our own fate and it is up to us to decide where we want to be.

Here are some tips I use. Maybe they'll be able to help you.

====Translator's Ebook====
Don't forget to get your copy of The Freelance Translator's Ultimate List of Translation Agencies today! To celebrate how well sales have gone so far, I've lowered the price to an unbelievable amount of $7 so that more people can get the book. It's a great way to increase your number of clients for a very cheap price.

2. New income source for translators

I recently ran across a site the other day that you might find interesting. It's a way for people to get translation in under an hour, but what is interesting is that freelance translators can sign up to be translators and the company pays you for the words that you translate.

They pay the same fee no matter what, and the payment isn't the greatest, but for those who are looking for something more to add to their freelance translation business, this could be another avenue for making some money translating.

3. Quote - Dwight D. Eisenhower

"Neither a wise man nor a brave man lies down on the tracks of history to wait for the train of the future to run over him."
