1. Proz.com First Virtual Translation Conference Sorry about this late notice, but I just got an email last night about the Proz.com Virtual Translation Conference. Proz.com is a great place to get more advice on becoming a translator and in order to celebrate their tenth year, they've decided to hold a 100% free virtual translation conference. So far, over 5,000 translators have signed up. If you are free tomorrow, September 30th, take some time and attend. You'll need to register beforehand, but as I mentioned earlier, it's 100% free so there's really nothing to lose. In fact, if you visit some of the virtual booths, you'll have the chance to win some great valuable translation-related prizes. For more information, check out the Proz.com Conference overview page.
====Translator's Ebook==== 2. Additional Language Conferences Translation training is an important part of being a translator and one of the best ways to learn is by talking to others who have done what you are trying to do. A great place to do this is language-related conferences. There seem to be a never-ending supply of conferences and the trick is to attend one that not only will give you the training you're looking for, but also allow you to network with those that can help you out on your journey as a translator. So if you'd like to review some upcoming language conferences, check out the resources at Translation Conferences to give you a head-start. There might even be one in your local area. 3. Quote - Friedrich Nietzsche "On the mountains of truth you can never climb in vain: either you will reach a point higher up today, or you will be training your powers so that you will be able to climb higher tomorrow."
