The previous poster, nena, is correct. It is a term similar to the word "fool" usually said amongst friends. It sounds as though it is pronounced "way", or at least close enough. I have also observed people using the term in every sentence, or even more frequently! It appears to be used mostly by younger people, and I have heard it used by some of my neighbors children who are as young as 10 - 12 years. It doesn't seem like a bad word, but it does contribute to an ever increasing "dumbing down" of the language, whether it is used within a conversation entirely in spanish or, as one often hears, a mixture of Spanish and English.

I agree with the previous person. Not something to say if you do not know the person well enough, could be insulting.

guey not way by: nena
Hi I saw this Question and thought it was a little funny! GUEY can mean a couple of things. If you say it between friends it's like saying "Whats up fool" or "Dude". I know someone that can have a three min conversation and say guey 13 times! But not may girls like this term! Hope this helps
