Best Spanish English Dictionary

by Monica Jaramillo

I'm trying to fiend a very good Spanish-English dictionary and I'm wondering if you could suggest me a good one to buy. I bought two different dictionaries and sometimes I don't find words in one that I might find in the other one. Other times I don't find words in any of them. I'd like to know wich is a very good dictionary that I can use.

Finding the Best Spanish English Dictionary
by: The Spanish Translator

Unfortunately, finding the best Spanish English dictionary can indeed be a challenge. The thing about dictionaries is that there are always words found in one that aren't found in another, and you can never find a dictionary that contains all the words you'll ever need.

For that reason, ever since I started learning Spanish and training to be a translator, I've been collecting different kinds of dictionaries, and most of the translation colleagues I know are the same way.

My favorite paperback dictionary, for example, is Harrap's Giant Paperback Spanish Dictionary, but this dictionary of course doesn't have all the words you'll ever need.

However, now I don't much use that dictionary, and instead have relied on electronic dictionaries and online Spanish translation databases to help me in my translation work. Not only do these take up less space, but they are easier to use because you can look up words faster and more efficiently.

There are different types of platforms that you could use if interested in using Spanish translation software. You'll just have to see which one or ones best suit your needs and the way you work.
