Charging for translation

by Elizabeth
(Switzerland)

Although I have had experience translating things from German to English for friends, I have never worked professionally. My mother tongue is English and I have lived and worked in the German speaking part of Switzerland for 28 years.

Now I would like to translate and proofread professionally but have absolutely no idea what I should charge. I would be very grateful for any advice you can give me. Thanks a lot.
