Getting paid by using a contract

When I translate a document I have a contract made up. When it's for some one I personally know I really don't make one unless they want it. Now I exchange document for payment. No exceptions! I work my butt off and if someone expects a translated docuement at a certain time I expect payment at the time of receiving the document.
