Low cost certification if you pass

Relatively speaking, it's actually a pretty low cost certification to have (if you pass).

Also I think it depends on the language combination. The Japanese tend to be more impressed with such certifications. Spanish speaking countries, maybe not due to so many people being fluently bilingual.

For my non-translating job interviews with Japanese companies, every single one mentioned and inquired about the CT; and mentioned they were impressed.

It isn't the end all be all, but definitely has been an added bonus.
