Online Spanish Dictionary Sites

Don't get me wrong, paper dictionaries are great. However, sometimes you just can't find what you're looking for and you might have luck finding the translation for that elusive word in an online dictionary.

While I will always have an affinity for reference books (especially Spanish language dictionaries), I do have a collection of online Spanish dictionary links that I use in my work, which might be useful for you.

Before I get to the list, however, I do need to warn you to excercise a bit of caution when using online Spanish dictionaries. As I talked about in my discussion of Spanish slang translation, what is written on the internet must not be taken as fact first time around. Good translators will always confirm and reconfirm questionable translations and only when they are sure will they commit to a word. Take what's given to you in the following online dictionaries with a grain of salt.
