Online Translator

Your article is quite concise. Recently I began studies in a foreign language (Spanish) and I am considering getting an online certification through 'rocketlanguages' to help,because the sites you reccommended are good, but i am under qualified, meaning I am not by bilingual. I have access to alot of 'certified' literature and media in the language I am studying and in contact with persons who speak it every 3 weeks for approximately one 1 hour. Do you have any suggestions for me personally so as to become bilingual?

Machine translators can only search and replace expressions/phrases from one language to another, but cannot understand the meaning of the text. You can rely on online translators for translating simple texts, but if you need a perfect translation you need to ask a professional translator. I do have alot of media movies, mp3's, and radio. As for the going to the country. I will have to arrange. As for lifelong commitment, this i will do. Thank you again

It is very difficult to achieve "bilingualism" if one has not grown up in a bilingual situation which is the case for many Hispanic Americans in the United States. My advice is to find a way to spend a good period of time in a Spanish speaking country, preferably in a situation where you are not called upon to speak or be exposed to English. Following that: movies, TV and reading constantly in the language to bring your Spanish up to scratch. It's a lifetime commitment.
