Spanish professor jobs
As a Spansh translator, you might at some point in your career want another challenge or you might want to get back into an academic setting. Whatever the reason, there is a growing need for Spanish professors and teachers, which might be just what you need for a little variety.
Spanish professor jobs can be found at all education levels. While you might not have the Ph.D. needed to teach at a 4-year university, there are plenty of other opportunities and places where you can find Spanish professor jobs. Some of these places might include high schools, junior colleges, adult education classes, or even classes taught to business executives.
I have a friend that moved to the South (United States) for a little while and while he was there, he was able to get a job teaching Spanish at the local school. He didn't have any special degrees but because he was able to speak fluent Spanish, he was able to find a job helping out the community.
As I mentioned earlier, there are other Spanish professor jobs you can find besides the ones in traditional education. Businesses (and their executives that travel a lot) are always interested in learning Spanish (or English) and you might have some luck going that route. My brother-in-law went to Peru a few summers ago and was able to find a job teaching English to Peruvian business executives. Those types of opportunities are out there if you're willing to do a little research.
Finally, if you're just looking for a venue where you can share your knowledge of the language and love for the culture, look at your local community's non-profit agencies to see if they have any volunteer needs that you could fulfill.
You can contact your local United Way or other non-profit agencies for more leads on where your skills might be best utilized. This could include anything from teaching English to Spanish-speaking adults to teaching a local beginner's computer class in Spanish.
The opportunities are virtually endless if you're willing to get out of your comfort zone and share your knowledge.
I'm passionate about Spanish translation. What are you passionate about? Want to turn that passion into profit? Here's how I did it...
