Spanish Translation Words
Construction-Related Terminology

Construction is a fast-growing field throughout the world, and Spanish translation words for the construction industry are necessary for qualified translators to take advantage of this opportunity and provide translations between Spanish and English.

While a lot of the online translation materials available right are geared towards Spanish-speaking lawyers and doctors, those professionals involved in the construction industry have plenty of need for bilingual skills as well.

These professionals included not only construction foremen and workers, but also mortgage and loan specialists, environmentalists, and real estate professionals.

Having the ability provide both translation of Spanish to English as well as Enlgish to Spanish is a very marketable skill to have in the construction industry, as growth is alwyas occurring either at home or abroad.

Below are a bunch of links to both free resources you can find online as well as books and dictionaries that you can pay for, all of which will help you either improve you abilities to communicate in Spanish and English with those in the construction field, or aid in your abilities to market yourself as a translator who specializes in translating a wide variety of construction-related texts and documents.

Spanish Translation Words of Construction Terms - Free

Fannie Mae Glossary of English-Spanish/Spanish-English Industry Terms
This is primarily a guide to help those involved in all aspects of the mortgage process better understand the terms and terminology to help and serve the Spanish-speaking community.

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development English-Spanish Glossary
While not as extensive as the Fannie Mae glossary above, this glossary has some good terms that will help you find a good translation of Spanish to English.

Interstate Screw Corp. Translation Dictionary
This is one of my favorite glossaries even though it is pretty limited. The reason is because it is such a specialized glossary containing only terms related to hardware like screws and fasteners. Where else are you going to find the translation for Cotter Pin or Sidewalk Bolt?

Euroresidentes Spanish-English Dictionary of Real Estate Terms
This glossary is specific to people interested in buying or selling real estate in Spain, so keep that in mind if you use it to translate documents from another Spanish-speaking country, as the words might be different.

OSHA English to Spanish Dictionary
Published by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, this relatively small glossary contains general terms related to OSHA.

OSHA Dictionaries
Not only has OSHA provided the above-mentioned General Terms glossary, their Hispanic Task Force has also developed other industry-specific dictioanries that can be a valuable tool to any translator or interpreter working with this specialization.

Translation of Spanish to English Construction Terms - Paid

If you'd rather pay for construction-related glossaries or dictionaries, or find that you need something more extensive for your work, it might be necessary to go out and buy a more comprehensive Spanish-English glossary. Here are some dictionaries from Amazon.com that might give you what you need.
