I hope that most people realize that machines can't translate as well as humans, but with the way technology is making everyone's life so much easier, it's probably more and more common for people to think that machines should be able to do just as good a job as humans with regards to translation. Yes there are instances when a machine can do a fairly decent job, but as a whole, I don't think machines will ever replace human translators.
