Guey = If a homeboy,closefriend is okay depending on how u use it. Can be just "dude" to.
When used and not close friend, or etc. then it can be taken in a negative or derogatory way.
Wey = This one would be used as if to say..(first I must say please excuse "profanity" here ok.)for example: "Ay wey!" = meaning "Oh shit!"

it's a very informal way to call somebody, such as "body" or "pal" but it's very infornal, if you call somebody "güey" and you aren't a very good friend of his, probably he'll feel you are being daring or unrespectful. you have to be positive about being a very good friend before using that word.
