Translation Software

I just graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso with a B.A. in Linguistics and a minor in Translation English-Spanish. I am currently working part-time at the university's Institute of Oral History. There might be an opportunity to expand my job into translating documents and the director of the program offered to buy software if I need it. What translation softare do you recommend? Thank you.
