The way you talk is yourself showing out to those interacting with you. You show out your inner worries or accomplishments(the adjectives you use), your level of education (how complex your language items are), even the way you feel at the moment (your recurring topics), especially if the interaction is spken, and naturally, your age is betrayed through language.
How many times your are absolutely sure the person on the other side of the wire is not the one you are asking for, although the answer to your request might have been "speaking".
No way, language is an X-ray of ourselves.

I like how you said that the translator is the person who decides what the original is actually about. And what is interesting is that two different translators will interpret the original in two different ways, especially when the translators come from different backgrounds.
