What does gasolina mean when talking about people?

by Amanda
(UT)

When someone says somos gasolinas, is it like saying they're the real deal or the best?

Somos gasolinas?
by: Elsa Latheef

I have never heard that expression before, sounds like the lowest slang... if you learn what it means, I would like to know as. well. Spanish is going through horrible desecration with the "Spanglish" and all those new terms and phrases brought in by immigrants. My advice is that you ignore them and keep on speaking the real Spanish or to call it properly, Castillian, because in Spain there are many other Spanish languages we don't know about, such as Catalan, and Vasco just to mention two.
Correctly speaking yours,
Elsa
