Tlacuacha NEW
by: Anonymous

My husband and I use this word often. They use it to describe a "common" or "unattractive" person. It is an insult. When you see someone and think of them as ugly or not of class, that is the word you would use. Tlacuache for a man or tlacuacha for a woman.

I can shed at least a very dim light on your question. Tlacuache is Mexican Spanish for possum. Tlacuacha, obviously, is the female form. But I sure can't guess what a human tlacuacha is. I've lived in Mexico for 16 years and never come across this. Could it have something to do with playing dead? At any rate, I suspect it's not complimentary. Possums ain't purdy, after all.
