Where can I apply for an in-house tranlslator job?

by Rita
(Italy)

I am graduated since 2007 as a translator but so far I have had some difficulties in getting jobs as a translator.

Can anyone help me in suggesting translation agencies in Italy or abroad which are keen on in-house translators?

How can I find them?

Thanks to everyone will answer me.

Finding an in-house translator position
by: Clint

It can be hard to find that elusive in-house translator job because a lot of people are looking for them. It can be especially hard if you're looking for a position in a specific region or country.

There are a couple of things you can do, though, to try and find a job. First, know your area of specialization. Once you know that, you can make a list of businesses in that specialization that would be in need of translators and then approach them.

The other option is to look at global translation agencies and see what kind of in-house positions they offer. Many agencies don't have in-house positions but there are some that have offices worldwide and are sometimes looking for in-house translators. For example, Lionbridge is a global translation agency with an office in Rome. While they don't have any open positions right now, there might be other agencies that do. Plus, if you submit your resume to them now, maybe they'll keep you in mind when they do need someone.
